Library code of conduct

Library membership is free to Waikato District Council ratepayers and residents.

There are six libraries located in the Waikato district – Huntly, Meremere, Ngaruawahia, Raglan, Tuakau and Te Kauwhata. Click here for more information including opening hours.

Our libraries offer many free services and resources, such as borrowing books, internet access, a winter reading programme for primary school aged children and Toddler Time. We also have a great selection of DVDs and magazines that are available for a small charge (children's magazines are free).

Click here to access your account. Remember your PIN is the last four digits of your library membership number. You can search our catalogue and reserve items to collect from any one of our branches (just remember the $1.50 per item reserve cost).

We also have reciprocal membership rights, where residents of other districts can join Waikato District Libraries free of charge, and Waikato District residents can join those Councils' libraries free of charge if they wish. These districts are Hamilton City, Waikato District, Matamata-Piako District and Hauraki District

We welcome all members of the public to use our services. For information on the responsibility of library users, refer to Parents responsibilities and our Code of Conduct.
